Mathsya is a name synonymous with good vegeterian food in Chennai. The interior and ambience are pretty good. There is buffet service and also alacarte options. Try their fragrant filter coffee, Rasam vadai, Mangalore bondas, Udipi thali and South Indian thali. North Indian varieties are good too. The average cost for two is Rs.200. |

"Mathsya, a great family place!"
After a long time Chennai sees a lovely family restaurant, were a bunch of 20 can go plonk and enjoy a lovely meal, and not pay a heavy sum! Mathsya serves awesome south Indian food, Tandoori, Chinese, continental and udipi food spread at both buffet and al a carte menu.
The ambiance, a little conventional, is done neatly, suitable for people from all walks of life. The place is spacious, well lit and of course at the end of the day when you enter you feel like you want to eat and that’s all matters, right?
The choice of food is great as there are too many varieties of cuisines to pick from. When you go to a place like this, you would ideally expect to eat good Indian food, but little do you know that the place serves some exotic Italian and Chinese.
There are about 12 varieties of salads Hawaiian salad and German potato salad topping the list. Try the lemon coriander and dal shorba if u are up to drink some soothing soup.
For the main course, if I were you I would order paneer butter masala, bagara baingan, butter toss vegetables, dal paalak or kadai subzi to go with my butter naan and masala kulcha.
The finishing touch would be gulab jamoon with ice cream or semiya payasam.
Buffet has a great spread and mixture of different cuisines, so for about Rs 150 you can have a sumptuous meal.
Mathsya is a place that you can keep visiting more than once.

"Perfect Vegeterian"
I stay close to T.Nagar and whnever i wanted to have good veget food , my first choice would be Matshya .... Place is very spacious good for get together party's//// They have buffet for a decent price. Some of my friend's have brought thier kids and they were able to leave the kids in the play area and have nice food ....
I have been there to matshya around 4 to 5 times .....
Every time i go there , i wanted to go back again ....
If you are going to order , you can ask them to make it spicy or not .... Have fun ....
